Well, I guess doing tons of laundry over the weekend paid off b/c I have had time to play in my craft room! :)
For this card, I chose to combine 2 challenges. The first is one of my favorite sketch sites, the sweetest thing, and the other is the latest challenge at Lily Pad Cards. The Lily Pad challenge was to use pattern paper on a card. And here's the sketch from the sweetest thing.
Here's my take on these challenges:
Again, I chose to use the My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pack and make a sympathy card. A friend has just lost his mother and figured this way a good way to show that we are praying for him and his family during this hard time. The stamp and sentiment is from the new Hero Arts collection and I stamped it several times randomly after taking some of the ink off first. I added some small bling to the clock and then the flower and then some faux brown stitching. It was a quick card but a lot of fun to work with the sketch!
Come play, too! :)

Another MOJO card!
Hi everyone!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We had a wonderful time at church and relaxing w/our boys and watching old movies in the evening. My oldest is about to turn 10 so I'm realizing we need to treasure those moments before they're grown and gone.
February is a busy month...we have family and friends with birthdays so I etched out some time today to make some cards. Here's the first one.
The MOJO sketch for this week is right up my alley! Here it is:
And here is my card: I was lucky enough to win some free 6x6 paper packs and I hadn't had a chance to make a card with them. All the paper is from My Mind's Eye--the Stella Rose pack. I added some ribbon and a flower w/a button center and the card was done! Added some faux white stitching just to add a finishing touch. Easy yet fun--love the colors on this card!
Hope you get a chance to play along this week!

Ribbon Carousel Giveaway
Hi everyone,
Just have time for a really quick post...The great website/challenge site is giving away a ribbon carousel. If you haven't seen it, it's pretty cool! And if you love ribbon--and I do--this is a great idea for storing it...

MOJO Monday combo
Hi everyone!
This week has flown by for me and I hope everyone has had a good one...I was able to enjoy some crafting time tonight and finally used some new Hero Arts stamps to complete the MOJO Monday sketch and a local craft store challenge, too.
Here's the sketch from MOJO Monday:I love the sketch and figured I'd combine the challenge with a cardmaking club challenge. I had to use pink cardstock as the base to my card and include a heart-shaped paper clip, too.
And here's my card:I knew that I wanted to use red, white, and black as the color scheme. I embossed 2 of the white squares and 2 of the black squares with my cuttlebug. Then, using the XO stamp from Hero Arts, I heat embossed the 2 letters. I used the sentiment from the & set (again, from Hero Arts) and embossed that in silver, too. I added some faux stitching with a silver pen. Using an EK Success Heart punch, I added the big heart to the white square and the smaller heart to the center panel. I had to use the paper clip so I picked the other white square and used glossy accents to adhere it. (That adhesive is amazing--I even used it the other day to fix a broken heel on my shoe!)
I am LOVING the new Hero Arts stamps...So fun to work with new stamps!
Have a great weekend!

A card that killed 2 challenges with one stone!
Hi all!
I've been MIA for almost a month! I can't believe it's been that long since I've posted anything...guess these past few weeks have been busier than I thought! But, alas, I got to play today! And maybe the long break helped fuel the fun b/c I enjoyed making the card immensely! :)
For this card, I used two different challenges. I started with the great sketch from the CPS site. It's a clean look and I love that look! Here's the sketch:And I then combined this challenge with the fun challenge at CAS-ual Fridays. So, I got a great sketch and the "penguin suit" means I can only use black and white...yes--that's right up my alley! LOVE it!
Here's my card:I started out by embossing a 4.25x5.5 piece of white cardstock using the cuttlebug swirls embossing folder. I cut it into 3rds and then added black ribbon. I used a label from sizzix and stamped the sentiment in black, embossed it, and added a few tiny rhinestones. Easy card to make--but it looks so elegant. Had I not had to stick to only white and black, I think the hearts would've been red or a mix of red and silver but I still like this look.
Thanks for stopping by!
