Hi friends!
I hope you all enjoyed a happy Easter and remembered how much God loves you by sending His Son to die for you. What a gift we were all given!
Tonight I'm sharing a card I made to play along with two different challenges. The first is the sweetest thing site that has a great sketch! As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew how I'd use it! The second is the Color Throwdown site. If you know me, you know I'm not much of a pink person but the colors this week intrigued me. Here are the challenge badges and my card:
Isn't this a great sketch!?! I loved it! I began by layering some pattern paper from the Glitter Sweet matstack on some brown cardstock. I stamped the bear (Stampin' Up) in some Versafine ink and then colored him in using my inktense watercolor pencils. I then masked him off and stamped the sentiment (Hampton Arts) all around him and drew a couple of hearts in some empty spaces. I added some faux stitching to some of the papers, inked up the main panel on the edges, and the card was done! He's an adorable little bear and I love using him!
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week!

Heartfelt Thanks
Hi friends!
I hope everyone had a good week! I know I, for one, am desperately looking forward to the weekend! It's been an incredibly busy week!
Tonight I wanted to share a card I made for two different challenges. One is the retro sketches site--I love their sketches! The second is A Blog Named Hero that has a freestyle challenge this week. If you have some time, check out these sites and play along! Here are the challenge badges and my card:
Isn't this a great sketch?! I loved it! I chose to flip it but I'm curious to try it again and leave it as is. I used papers from the Latte Stack from DCWV and embossed the purple panel. I LOVE the Hero Arts "Heartfelt Thanks" sentiment--the font is great!--and I added some faux stitching around the circle and the banner. The small buttons with jute were a final addition but I love how they tie the colors all together. Simple yet cute card...my kind of card! :)
Have a great weekend, everyone, and thanks for stopping by!

Yes, I'm still here!
Hi friends!
I know, it's been a long time since I've posted anything...what can I say? Life has been busy!
I wanted to share a card I made tonight using a great sketch from the Unscripted Sketches site and some inspiration from the Runway Inspired site (loved using the colors from the photo) and the Lawnscaping site, too, which asked us to incorporate stitching on our card! Yes, 3 challenges in one card! Since I have very limited time now, I have to make the most of it and play along with as many challenges as I can in the short time I have! You'll find the badges and my card below.
This is a clean and simple card. I embossed the front of the card and then followed the sketch. I replaced the butterfly element with tons of hearts (used a Martha Stewart punch) and then embossed the bigger hearts. I added some twine, some silver faux stitching and the sentiment and the card was done! This is a great sketch for a quick and easy card. You can tailor it for so many occasions and so many different styles. I'm surely going to use it again!
Thanks for stopping by!

Emphasizing the negative
Hi everyone!
I have a card to share again today! Feels so good to be in my room again...And this card will be doing double duty. I'm playing along with two different challenges--one is from the retro sketches site that has a great sketch this week and the other is from the Moxie Fab World site that asked us to emphasize the negative. So, here's the sketch and my card: I figured I'd start early with a father's day card! :) I used my dies to cut out the word 'dad' and then added the strip of pattern paper to the card base and added faux stitching. I added some twine and the card was done! Super easy but really cute card to make! I'm thinking of making one that says 'mom', too.
Thanks for stopping by!

Color Blocking!
Hi friends!
After quite the busy weekend, I decided to take some time to catch up on some blog challenges. First up is the challenge over at the CAS-ual Fridays site. It's a technique that is really difficult for me for some reason...so I really wanted to try a clean and simple card with some color blocking. Here's the challenge badge and my card:
I've always seen cards where people have taken an acrylic block and used it to color block. I decided I would give that a shot with a rectangular acrylic block. I used my distress markers and then misted the block before stamping. Then I heat embossed a Hero Arts stamp and punched a small orange butterfly. I added a few gems and the sentiment and the card was done. It took a little longer than what I thought it would but it was kindda cool to try a new technique.
Hope you can join in on the fun--and thanks for stopping by!

Another Trio of cards
I've been busy today--and this is my 3rd post for the day! I just finished an order for client and wanted to share a trio of cards I made for her and that I'm entering into the Anything Goes challenge at the Simon Says Stamp! blog. Here are my cards:
With spring coming right around the corner, I chose to make several cards with butterflies. I used an Impression Obsession music stamp and used some seasonal distress inks to make a monochromatic look. The butterflies were punched using a Martha Stewart punch and I love how delicate the butterflies look. I inked the edges of the card for a more defined border and then added pearls to the butterflies. I love ending the day with inky fingers! :)

The Camera Craze!
Hi again!
Yes, it's post #2! I have been itching to try my hand at the latest Moxie Fab Challenge--the camera craze! My husband loves photography and he does several jobs on the side during the summer. I wanted to have a stamp that featured a camera for a card for him. Sure enough--the Moxie Fab site featured cameras and I knew it was time to play along. Here's my card: I wish I could tell you what company made these 2 stamps but I found them in the dollar bin at JoAnns or Michaels. I decided to stamp the sentiment all over the card in silver. Then, I stamped the camera and heat embossed it. I wanted a splash of color so I mounted the camera on red cardstock and then adhered the piece with dimensional adhesive. Stamping the sentiment took a bit--but it was so much! The card is easy to make and I'm sure my husband will love it--and smile! :)
Thanks for stopping by--and have a great week!

Be Still, My soul...
Hi everyone!
Oh, how I've missed making cards and sharing! Life has changed so much this past month but today I get to share several cards (in several posts!) and make up for lost time! First up is a card I am entering into the Simon Says Stamp and Show! blog and the CAS-ual Fridays site. The challenges were to use a stamp that you love but don't use often and to make your own background paper.
Without further ado, here's the challenge badge and my card: I love stripes...but I hardly ever use my Impression Obsession stamp! I knew I wanted to make more of a masculine card and stripes really lend themselves well to that look. So, I inked it with Versamark and heat embossed it with silver powder. Quick and easy way to make your own background paper! I like that the stamping wasn't perfect--it's more of a rugged look. I then stamped the sentiment which are lyrics to one of my favorite hymns. I added just a couple of deep blue gems and the ribbon. Voila!
Thanks for stopping by and see you with another post soon!
