My son joins in on the fun!

Hi friends,

Those of us who make cards know how much fun it is. However, when you can share your hobby with one of your kids it's even more special. Last week, my eight-year-old son, Jonathan, decided to join me in my craft room. He wanted to make a card for a special friend. After I saw what he'd created, I remembered the current challenge happening now at the Ribbon Carousel blog. Their challenge is "fun in the sun" and Jonathan's card definitely captures his idea of fun in the sun. With very little help from me, he created a fun card. Here it is:

I know he used distress inks and markers to make the sand and water on the card. The stamps he used are from the dollar bin. He colored in the pail with distress markers, too. Then he cut out a scrap piece of cardstock to make his blanket and added a zigzag line on both sides. The sentiment is from the Apothecary Labels from Simon Says Stamp!. As a final touch, he added the ribbon up top and I tied the knot! :)

He had so much fun creating this card. It's interesting to see a child craft. They don't necessarily think about the "rules"--they just have fun! I should take note of that more often.

Thanks for stopping by!
Pat

  1. Hey, Pat! This summery card is perfect timing, because I came by to tell you that you won the spot in the upcoming Summer Card Camp 2 that I was giving away on my blog. If you wouldn't mind dropping me an email (check my "contact me" tab on my blog), I'll get you set up. Congratulations!!!
