Embossed baby card

Hi everyone!

Well, although my weekend was busy, I was able to carve out some time last night for some crafting. I hope you guys were able to get creative this weekend, too!

I wanted to share a baby card I made using a wonderful sketch from Unscripted Sketches. And, I don't know if this happens to everyone but I will go for a long time without doing a technique and then, all of a sudden, I remember how much I love it and start using it--a lot! That's happened to me with embossing! It had been a while since I used my embossing powder but I chose to use it on this card and enter it at V's Sweet Ideas Blog.

Here's the sketch and my card:
Isn't that a great sketch?! I LOVE clean lines and this sketch was perfect! I had just bought some $1 stamps from Jo-Anns Fabric that were little feet and little hands and I knew I could put those on the sides of the card with the cute "poem" in the center. I chose to emboss the little feet and hands and all the writing. Then I just added the ribbon and a pink gem and done! I love sketches that are easy and that you can tailor to so many different occasions. I know I'll be using this one for many different types of cards!

    What a cute card! The embossing really makes the images and sentiments pop. (By the way, I seem to have rediscovered "fussy cutting". I can't seem to make a card without fussy cutting SOMETHING on it! LOL)

    Oh my! What a REALLY darling card! So sweet! Love the interpretation of the skietch and the pretty, heartfelt images. They were a steal at $1! Your embossing is perfect on the card! TFS

    I totally agree about the technique thing, but for me its usually seeing someone else do it that reminds me to get back into it. Reminds me I haven't embossed for, like, ever. Love the card. Thanks for sharing your take on this weeks sketch at unscripted sketches.
