Playing with Frantage

Hi all!

I hope everyone is having a good week. Mine has been a little weird since my oldest is sick. But, since he's sleeping so much, I figured I'd play while I could in my room. The card I'm sharing is one that uses a new product--to me, anyway--called Frantage. It's an embossing enamel that has bits of mica in it with glitter, too. I've had it for at least a year--probably two--and tonight I was determined to use it. I'm entering the card in 2 different challenges. The first is the Festive Friday site. Their inspiration photo is what prompted me to use the frantage product. Then, the "anything goes" challenge at the Word Art Wednesday site is always a favorite of mine, too. Here's my card and the photo inspiration.
So, I knew I wanted to use this frantage shabby pink embossing enamel on vellum. It has touches of gold glitter, pink glitter and white mica. I stamped the Hero Arts Christmas tree with versamark ink and then embossed the vellum but heating it from the back. Then, I stamped the sentiment in gold pigment ink and clear embossed that, too. Although my card base is white, I covered the front of the card with a gold/copper metallic paper from DCWV. I then adhered the vellum but wrapping the vellum in back of the top fold. I didn't have pink pearls so I used my copic marker to add some color to the white pearls I did have and added those to the card.

I love the softness that the vellum added to the card and the really cool embossed tree. In real life, that tree looks amazing! The vellum is also slightly shorter than the gold cardstock underneath so when it's flat, it has a lovely bottom edge to the card, too. May have to play some more with this product and look into getting more of it...

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the week!
Pat

  4. Oh Pat! The Frantage (new to me too) is stunning, and I love the look on the vellum. You saw gold and pink in the inspiration pic, and I did the same. Many folks saw mostly deep red and silver. (I thought maybe something was wrong with my eyes or laptop screen. You have reassured me that I'm not the only one seeing those colors. Thanks!)

The Frantage is spectacular enough looking in your photo, that I will be on the lookout for it to add to my embossing collection. thank you so much for sharing.
